Pink Faerie Wings by Firefly-Path Pink Faerie Wings by Firefly-Path
A pair of life size faerie wings I made. They are covered in resin making them hard and durable to wind and rain. I modeled them off of monarch wings.

check out this video to see them in action! www.flickr.com/photos/31773310…

Over the years I have received a lot of questions on how I make these type of wings. The PDF tutorial is available on my Etsy store (www.etsy.com/shop/FireflyPath) I hope you all like it!

Durable wings are -very- important when you attend events where folks do not watch where they are going much less avoid your wings even though they are big, beautiful and should be -very- easily noticeable. Beautiful work as always.

This is exactly what I wanted to do for the wings I want to make I plan on doing the design based of of the look of ether the lunar moth or the papilio ulysses I could not figure out how to do the inside to get it to look almost like glass like you did here. How in the world did you do it before you put the resin on?

Where did you find the resin to coat them with? I just started making cellophane wings and have been experimenting a lot. I read a description of another pair of wings and the artist also used resin. Do you have any tips as to how you make them so wonderful? My method needs a bit of improvement!
Thanks!

Ah, gorgeous! What kind of material did you use for the wings? I mean: it doesn't look like fabric at all. :)

So pretty~! I love the petals on the harness, and the colours are so lovely~ they really compliment each other.
All the little gems are so cute - they make the wings look really girly. <3
