The Sky In Her Sleeves

The Tropic Sunset Fairy was inspired by a striking sunset one evening from my kitchen window. The entire sky cast a pink hue over the valley. The blue sky was streaked with fuchsia clouds as the sun set behind the hills. I imagined a fairy pulling a bright veil across the sky before reveling the evening stars.

Indigo and I had been talking about wanted to incorporate more movement with our photos. I designed this costume to have a lot of flowing fabric to play around with. I think he captured what we were looking for especially in the videos.

I asked the talented Angela Jarman (famous for her expansive Fairy Wings creations at www.fancyfairy.com) if she was interested in doing a collaboration with Indigo and myself. I showed her my progress on the costume and she designed these beautiful wings to compliment the costume. I've been a long time admirer of her work so this was a dream come true to be able to collaborate with her!!

I asked Christina Rose to model this design. Her long lithe body is the perfect fit for the long flowing design. You must watch the video to see how graceful the fabric flows around her! Also she makes me want to work more unlike anyone else!! She was such a pleasure to work with <3
